Zurich/Switzerland – December 5, 2023 dacadoo, a global leader in health scoring and lifestyle navigation, is excited to announce a new partnership with bEHR Health Systems, an innovative company dedicated to improving health literacy among African Americans.
bEHR, known for its community-centric approach to health education, will leverage dacadoo’s industry-leading Digital Health Engagement Platform to empower African Americans with personalized insights and actionable guidance to improve health outcomes. This partnership aims to bridge the health-literacy gap and deliver culturally relevant, accessible health information and tools to historically underserved Black communities. These communities often face unique challenges related to age-related diseases, exacerbated by socio-economic disadvantages.
dacadoo’s technology will enable bEHR community members to better understand their health through a simplified health score dependent upon several factors including nutrition, activity, sleep, self-control, and mindfulness data, and receive access to digital coaching for maintaining healthier lifestyle habits to manage their health and prevent diseases.
Peter Ohnemus, President & CEO of dacadoo stated: “At dacadoo we believe all humans have the right to great health. It is with great happiness that we can today announce the teamwork with bEHR for their community-centric approach to health education for African Americans. Health is all about education and understanding – what people can understand, they can improve. dacadoo is very proud to support bEHR with our baseline of understanding health through our platform and support better lives with our dacadoo health feedback loop”.
Kwame Terra, MPH, Founder & CEO of bEHR Health Systems, Inc. added: “My first objective is to clearly communicate to the Black community our current health status. A significant challenge in our community is simply the lack of awareness about our health status, with 60% of African Americans having basic or below basic health literacy. By leveraging dacadoo’s health score technology, we are able to provide a simple, yet comprehensive solution to health literacy in the Black community. Early data from our efforts indicates that when individuals know their health score and understand how it compares to others, there is a heightened motivation to actively engage with preventative healthcare services and make positive changes to lifestyle habits. This underscores the transformative impact of empowering individuals with knowledge for better health outcomes within the Black community.”
Both companies are committed to ongoing research and development to ensure that the solutions provided remain at the forefront of technological innovation and effectively meet the evolving needs of the community.
